In this project i worked together with trewell, a cardboard packaging and furniture design company to develop a modular piece of furniture. The Elephant in The Room is a playful, lightweight and easily produced piece of furniture made out of cardboard. It engages it’s users by letting them disassemble the elephant in the room, a shared action as well as a symbolic one.
To add comfort and style i added cushioned part of the seats. I chose to match the color of the fabric with the cardboard to create a coherent look that didn’t take away from raw beauty of the cardboard.
